1. Velvet Underground- self titled-1969 We could have picked any of their seminal albums, but this one is our favorite. After the departure of John Cale, Lou Reed and company crafted an album of uncanny dark beauty with a seemingly more traditional sound, steeped in what I consider to be Reeds finest collection of lyrics. There is no 'independent, alternative, college rock, or whatever name you give to unconstrained modern music without the Velvet Underground.- MGM Records
2. The Stooges- Fun House- 1970- the Second album by Ann Arbor, Michigan fathers of punk/noise/rock. Essentially recorded live in the studio. If the song 'Loose' doesn't get you going, you may want to check your pulse. Elektra Records
3. Kraftwerk- Trans Europe Express- 1977- the 6th studio album by the German. Highly influential fathers of synth pop, post punk, electro pop, techo, and hip hop to an extent. This album is often regarded as their finest. It is full of creativity and adventure .
